Hello friends: I installed the XDS560 emulator (TI) with and ATEME IEKC64x board, and the XDS560 driver is randomly bluescreening my computer. actually it used be more rampant, until I unchecked the 'RTDX' from "Help" -"About" -> "Component Manager". (5 times a day to once a day, but random)I have Win2K OS. Is this something heard of ? or any known fixes ? Would really appreciate any insight to this problem, Thanks a ton, ka |

I have the problem with the ATEME NVDK6416 and the XDS560 emulator too. I don't know it is exactly apply to you. My problem is the mismatch between the dsp chip version and the XDS560 device driver version. Check your dsp chip version and driver version. The latest chip version is d1.1 and driver version is rev 1.1. You can see the chip version on the 6416. ka,
I have used a couple of XDS560s on Win2k with zero problems. I have
seen problems when a co-worker managed to install a copy of the XDS560 Beta
software on an incompatible version of CCS.
What is the version of CCS that you have??
Also, what is version [from windows->properties] of the following two
files:
ti/drivers/tixds560c64x_11.dvr [you are using this driver?]
<windows dir>system32/drivers/XDS560.sys
Also, the problem could be another PCI card [usually from a
'non-mainstream manufacturer] that is using the same interrupt "that
does not play well with others when an interrupt is shared". Check under
Computer Management to see if the interrupt is shared.

Anand, I'm worried to see that you still have problems. What is your exact type of processor ? Could your problem related to Hyperthreaded Pentiums ? Remember that Windows2000 doesn't support correctly new Hyperthreaded Pentium (P4C, and may be some P4B too) and you have too upgrade to XP to support correctly Hyperthreaded Pentium (or desactivate HT in the bios) Jean-Michel. > -----Message d'origine----- > De : Anand K [mailto:] > Envoy: samedi 8 novembre 2003 01:26 > : > Objet : [c6x] XDS560 driver problems > Hello friends: > > I installed the XDS560 emulator (TI) with and ATEME IEKC64x board, > and the XDS560 driver is randomly bluescreening my computer. > actually it used be more rampant, until I unchecked the 'RTDX' > from "Help" -"About" -> "Component Manager". Hi, I figure that I have the following versions of drivers, as after the last update that I made yesterday to v2.21 of CCS. Hardware : ATEME IEKC6416 Chip Rev. D1.03 tixds6400_11.dvr: ---------------- 2.10.13.0 C6400 rev 1.1 Device Driver for XDS510 xds560.sys: ---------- 2.0.0.0 XDS560 PCI Device Driver xdsfast1.sys: < this seems new - dont know what it does > ------------ 1.0.0.1 The kernel-mode `stub' driver for Unified-SCIF. Also, I made sure that no other PCI device (just have 1 more) shares an interrupt with the XDS560 card ! Jean-Michel, I do not have a hyperthreaded Pentium 4 processor, so thats probably not the problem... Do my driver versions look correct for the software versions I have ? [CCS 2.21.00.01] Thank you in advance, ka --- In , "Jean-Michel MERCIER" <jm.mercier@a...> wrote: > > Anand, > > I'm worried to see that you still have > problems. > > What is your exact type of processor ? > > Could your problem related to Hyperthreaded Pentiums ? > > Remember that Windows2000 doesn't support > correctly new Hyperthreaded Pentium (P4C, and may > be some P4B too) and you have too upgrade > to XP to support correctly Hyperthreaded Pentium > (or desactivate HT in the bios) > Jean-Michel. |

Anand, I am using the IEKC64 with the XDS560 too (but running WinXP) and I have no problems at all. First, your IEKC64 is built around the 64xx Rev 1.03, so you must not use the Rev. 1.1 driver. I use the "C6414,15,16 Rev 1.0x XDS560 Emulator" driver, and added the "C:\ti\cc\bin\560withC64x.cfg" as configuration file. Additionaly I use "Legacy (10..MHz)" as TCLK. This configuration works fine, however RTDX is not supported in Chip-Rev 1.03! ka,
You are using the wrong driver if your target is the ATEME board. See
below.
tixds6400_11.dvr is CCS "driver" for XDS510 and chips rev 1.1x and
newer.
tixds6400.dvr is CCS "driver" for XDS510 and chips rev
1.0x.
tixds560c64x_11.dvr is CCS "driver" for XDS560 and chips rev 1.1x and
newer.
tixds560c64x.dvr is CCS "driver" for XDS560 and chips rev
1.0x.
xds560.sys is windows kernel mode driver for PCI/XDS560
xdsfast1.sys is windows kernel mode "driver" for ISA/XDS510 mikedunn

Thanks again Mike, actually I posted my previous one in a rush. I carefully checked my setup again and found that it is indeed according to Michael Bramberger's email, since I only havea rev.1.03 chip. The version of that driver (i.e. tixds560c64x.dvr) is 1.37.2.0 The driver that bluescreens my system is xds560.sys. It seems CCS full version installs XDSfast1.sys also - and I was just wondering what it is. I have tried uninstalling all TI software / drivers and reinstalling again a coupla times - that didnt work either. That brings me back to square one on my investigation :((( ! --- In , Mike Dunn <mike-dunn@s...> wrote: > ka, > > You are using the wrong driver if your target is the ATEME board. ka,
Don't worry about xdsfast1.sys - it is used to enable the XDS510 to
perform ISA bus accesses.
FYI - uninstall does not usually remove OS drivers [*.sys] and as a
result reinstall does not replace them.
When you say "The driver that bluescreens my system is xds560.sys", does
that mean you have positive indication that it was executing when it
crashed??
You aren't by chance running thr original Win2k with no service packs
are you??
I have checked with several different people who are running the same
version xds560.sys as you - no one has seen the problem [the usual response was
"I didn't know that you could get a blue screen on Win2k".
