one dimension wevelet analysis

Hello all,
A new bee to wavelets, I need to segment a timeseries profile or to be
more specific a topographic profile (langscape profile sampled at an
interval 6 meters extending to 20 kM long) based on the roughness of
the profile and also find wavelet power spectrum of it. In that case
which wavelet would be the best or can some body pass on to me the
necessary matlab code.
I am posting this the second time, I would highly appreciate any kind
of help.

Assalamo Alykom,
I am trying only to help in despite of I dont understand 100% what you need , but I searched in the help and I found these , it may help :
1. From the MATLAB command line, type wavemenu
2. Click on Wavelets 1-D (or another tool as appropriate).
3. Load the sample analysis by selecting the appropriate submenu item from File => Example Analysis.

I really would like to help more , but this toolbox is new and there is not much people who work with it

Meanwhile you may use the programming tools PLUS the functions in the Wavelet Toolbox :
