Hi , This is regarding a problem that we are facing with our board , TMS320C6416 - D6E3 (Silicon Errata version 1.1).We are performing secondary boot loading. When the board is reset via the emulator or via power on , the secondary boot loader executes as required. We are able to view the CE and the ARE control signals being issued to the Flash. But , during manual reset (push button) , the DSP hangs , and no control signals are issued ( to any of the CE spaces , even the CE1 space , which the on chip bootloader queries during boot- up).Could you please help us out at the earliest. Thanks and best regards, Ramya. Ramya Mohan Systems Engineer Accord Software & Systems Bangalore India Telephone :25350105 Ext:150 |

I may be totally wrong, but what is the state of your "boot mode" selection pins (BEA[19:18]) while you're pushing that reset button? Ramya,
If your 'boot mode' is correct during reset, the problem may be
that your pushbutton is not properly debounced. If the DSP is "seeing"
multiple pulses of incorrect minimum width and/or excessive frequency it may
have problems. When a button switch is pushed and/or released, it is not
uncommon to see several 'noise pulses'. Your switch should go
into a circuit that will provide a single pulse that exceeds TI's min pulse
width spec [I suggest exceeding it by a factor of 2].
let us know how things work out...
