Hi,
I have got a EVMC6727 and a Spectrum Digital Emulator XDS510USB. I have
installed the emulator and run the SDConfig, everything says OK. The port that
it says I'm using is the 0x510.
** Emulator Test **
$$ EmuProductName=XDS510USB
$$ EmuPortAddr=0x510
$$ EmuPortMode=USB
$$ ProductIdQ0
$$ ProductVersion
** Emulator Scan Test
-- Found JTAG IR length of 54
-- Found 2 JTAG device(s) in the scan chain
* Checking for available USB ports
$$ XDS510USB connected on:
$$ EmuPortAddr=0x510
$$ EmuSerialNumber=S310112172112522
Then when I go to CCS 3.3 Setup, at the connections properties I can't
set the emulation port to 0x510. the only options I got at the drop-down are
0x240, 0x280, 0x320, 0x340.
Could you guys give me any help? I have gone through many Spectrum manuals none
mentions anything.
Thanks in advance.
Eduardo Marques.

You are selecting something incorrectly in CCS setup. These addresses
are for a TI XDS510 ISA card [no longer manufactured].
When you open CCS setup, go to the 'Platform' drop down at the top of
the center pane and see if there is an option that contains something
like sd_usb510''.
Select the appropriate 'sd' option [if there are more than one] and
you will only be presented with valid SD emulator options. This
should solve your problem.

Michael,
well this option wasn't there, but then I looked for something like
sdxds510*.ccs and imported to the CCS Setup. Now it has connected.
Could you tell me why this platforms aren't available there if I have
installed the setupCCS**.exe from Spectrum digital?
Thanks for the help already given.

You would have to ask SD. I do not use SD emulators, but I have used
several other 'non-TI' emulators. It appears that it is up to the
vendor to add whatever 'pre-configured configurations that they want
to add'. When I install one BH [BlackHawk] emulator, they add several
types to the 'platform list'. I would suggest checking the SD docs -
some of the third parties do not add these platforms to the list
[which is just a text file that points to the correct '.ccs' file] -
they just tell you to import the '.ccs' file.
