Hi DSPers,
I am using TMS320C6204 DSP to process data read from a FIFO. The FIFO is to be connected as glue less interface through the Expansion bus of the DSP (in XCE3 space). The FIFO we are going to use is from IDT. Is the 6204 DSP compatible with the IDT FIFO? Also I have planned to operate the XBUS with the internal arbiter enabled. In this mode, what should be done to the signals XHOLD and XHOLDA? Should I pull it down? I am not using the Host port interface of the XBUS. I think the XHOLD and XHOLDA signals are meant for HPI. Please any body who knows help me. Also I have designed my own board. I need some help for designing the power capacitors. S.K.Ramanan, Project Engineer, Soliton Automation Pvt Ltd., Coimbatore. YOu will need a number of control signals, state-machines, etc. to handle synchronous X-Bus transfers, so you got to have the logic anyway. Why use a separate FIFO IC?
