Hello everyone,I am currently working on a thesis project. As a part of my project, I have developed several design architectures to implement a high speed, memory intensive DSP algorithm (Discrete Wavelet Transform). As a part of my thesis I have to compare the performance results of these designs with respect to area, clock and power. I have already synthesized my designs on the Virtex 5 (XC5VSX50T) and have the results ready. But, I am not aware of how to do the power estimation. Should I use the XPA spreadsheet or the XPower from the ISE 9.2? I am not aware how I should set the parameters for the designs, such as the toggle rates, capacitances, voltages etc. Could someone please help me with the power estimation using XPower. Something like a short tutorial how to go about it? Thanks, Ishita
Google gave me this result: ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/documentation/tutorials/xpowerfpgatutorial.pdf Cheers, Vivek Hello everyone,I am currently working on a thesis project.
