SNR estimation with colored noise!!!! - engr...@gmail.com - Oct 12 8:16:52 2007

Hi all,
I recenly join this group and i hope this will be a good plateform for me to share my ideas
with others.
I am doing SNR estimation with color noise for OFDM systems.i am confused about somthings so i
am writing here.i am very thanksful for your kind replies.

I take 256 bit symbol after adding cyclic prefix 'cp=1/4' its length becomes 320.
For color noise estimation i divide the whole band into subbands of 16 so they become 20 sub
bands.
Than i transmit each band through releigh channel.lets supose the recieved signal after each
channel is Y.
than i add color noise in each of the branch.color noise is generated by passing white noise
through FIR1 filter.
then
recieved signal with colour noise becomes Y+color noise.

Noise power is estimated against every subband and then averaged over all OFDM symbol.

can anybody guide me how to final noise power in each band and how to find signal power ?

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

Rana
